Boats depart from Thap Lamu Pier near Khao Lak. Day trips are popular but book in advance as visitor numbers are capped daily.

  • Go early or late afternoon to avoid the strongest heat.
  • Carry cash for small fees, toilets, lockers or local transport.
  • Use official ticket counters and check current visitor information.
